Content Cop is back.
It's a shame my taste in Youtube videos has changed so much since the last, but I just can't be bothered to care.
Maybe it's the fact it's tied to the Israel/Palestine conflict and I'm pretty sick and tired of seeing people decide they're all for Palestine - but instead of protesting, giving to charity or whatever they spend all their time complaining about other people's take on the conflict ('Pot, meet kettle' I know - but I do charity work - including some relating to Palestine - I just can't prove it).
Besides, from my understanding H3H3 had the pretty middle-of-the-road take most people I know (including me and exlcuding one complete nutter) would agree with that October 7th justified a military response but that Israel has committed several war-crimes and even likely a genocide in their response and should be made to stop (especially considering Hamas seem to be pretty much done for now). Although maybe I just missed where he was salivating over the deaths of children or whatever, I never really watched him the way I used to Idubbz and Filthy Frank.
I also think that to an extent I just want to complain about something because Idubbz has given to charity for all I know, but I just feel that if you feel so strongly about the conflict that you want to use your platform to raise awareness, I'd be covering the news and not the Youtube drama.
I hope I don't come across as some 'holier than thou' asshat whose mad people aren't dealing with the situation as well as me, but it did make me miffed to see so many people have all this time for Youtube Drama related to the conflict but no time for the actual war-crimes being committed there.
I think I've also just lost interested in Youtube Drama as a whole - nowadays it's all like this - tied to some big issue but in a way that's largely irrelevant like some guy's opinion of it - which leads people to take it seriously while actually having a complete waste of effort. Unless it's just funny like the James Somerton stuff I just feel it simultaneously exhausting and pointless. And the James Somerton stuff was a time where someone was actually screwing a lot of people over too. Also, does the Hawk Tuah girl stuff count?
Even now I feel I'd go 'Who cares?' to the Keemstar or Ricegum Content Cops I used to like.
You (the reader) might say it's hypocritical of me to complain about people complaining - surely my priorities are also misplaced. But this isn't a multi-hour video that likely took weeks to months to make.
Again, I'm aware that this comes across as me bragging about how 'above it all' I am but I hope you (the reader) can understand I'm not trying to be pretentious.
I just am.
